A high hardness ceramic coating to improve component lifetime and release-ability
The TOWA Bancera coating is an oxide-ceramic-based coating which has been developed as an alternative to the hard chrome plating of molds, however the coating is applicable for all kinds of precision components.
TOWA developed the Bancera coating surface treatment to reduce delamination of the molding compound and to reduce the cleaning frequency of the mold.
Due to the increased wear and corrosion resistance, high hardness, anti-adhesion and the small layer thickness the coating is applicable for precision parts which are exposed to high friction and (chemical) liquids.

Mold release force reduced by 60% in comparison with hard chrome plating. A reduction of the release force will result in a reduction of delamination of the compound material.

Molding contamination reduces to less than 9% compared to the conventional coating. This reduces the cleaning frequency and production time which will lead to a reduction of the total production costs.
