February 7 – 9 – 2017 – Thuringia, Germany
Meeting with His Royal Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Royal Majesty Queen Maxima
TOWA Europe participated in the Royal HTSM – Photonics and Semicon Trade Mission to Thuringia – Germany, organized by the Dutch Government
This Trade Mission was led by Mrs. Ploumen, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation and ran parallel to the working visit of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands to Eastern Germany.
As BCS (Business Cluster Semiconductors) member, we had been asked to apply for the exhibition of our product/company to the Royal Couple. There were also match making sessions with German companies and networking lunches and dinners.
BCS (Business Cluster Semiconductor) had arranged an exhibition table where TOWA Europe B.V. PDC and Salland Engineering showed samples and a Mercedes car headlight with the topic: From Wafer to Advanced Headlight.
This made it easier to explain our activities to His Royal Majesty King Willem-Alexander and the Minister. After an introduction by Barry Peet of BCS and a general overview by Paul van Ulsen of Salland Engineering, Huub Claassen explained the TOWA Europe activities to His Royal Majesty.

Before meeting the Royal couple, several other meetings took place. During the kick-off meeting companies were asked to do a company introduction.
About 35 involved organizations presented themselves, Pete Molenaar did this for TOWA Europe.
Also a Match Making session had been organized, resulting in good meetings with future business potential.
Before dinner with the Royal Couple in the Congress Hall in Leipzig, a group photo was made. Her Majesty Queen Maxima, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Minister Mrs Ploumen in front.
Visits to several German companies were arranged. During these visits and networking opportunities, several companies expressed their interest in our Package Development capabilities, CBN End Mills and Bancera Coating surface treatment.
Attending this trade mission proved to be successful beyond our expectation. We are grateful for this chance of meeting with His Royal Majesty King Willem-Alexander, his interest in our activities and his wish for future success of our company.
